Arthritis Essentials - The Details
Arthritis Essentials® is a nationally recognised unit of competency (MSKINF001 Provide information and strategies for musculoskeletal conditions) and is a core unit within the nationally accredited 10168NAT Course in Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions. Arthritis Essentials® consists of the following three interrelated learning modules:
- Anatomy relevant to arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions
- Information on arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions
- Management strategies for arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions
Format and duration
Arthritis Essentials® is a flexible, self-paced online unit that allows students to design their own study timetable to fit in with work and family commitments. The unit is delivered entirely ONLINE and students will require access to a computer with internet access and the ability to access Adobe PDF files (free reader available at www.adobe.com).
Completion of the unit, including all assessment tasks, should take approximately 7 hours. Upon enrolment and payment, you will be given up to 180 days online access within which to complete the unit, if required.
Assessment for Arthritis Essentials® (MSKINF001 Provide information and strategies for musculoskeletal conditions) is competency based. This means that you are required to demonstrate specific skills and knowledge. Assessment for this unit will be conducted using a variety of methods. There will be quizzes to test knowledge and understanding along the way, and students will be required to complete and submit answers relating to two case studies in order to complete the unit and demonstrate your understanding of its content and application./p>
Recognition of prior learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) takes into account any previous formal study, work and life experience, and then assesses this against the elements of competency to determine if you can receive credit toward a qualification. Students seeking recognition can apply for RPL on enrolment into a qualification or throughout the duration of their study. A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) kit is available on request. This kit contains an application form, information regarding the RPL process and the documentation you will need to prepare for the RPL process.
Arthritis Essentials® is delivered entirely ONLINE and to successfully complete the unit students will require access to a computer with internet access and the ability to access Adobe PDF files (free reader available at www.adobe.com)
There are no essential entry requirements, however to facilitate successful completion of the unit students should be able to demonstrate satisfactory levels of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN). As a guide, English proficiency to Year 10 level or equivalent. Students are able to test their LLN skills by completing the LLN test available on the Safe Work Resources website. Fees & Charges
A payment of $150 (GST free) is required before students are able to access the online learning unit Arthritis Essentials®. Payment can be made securely online through PayPal. It is not necessary to have a PayPal account, as payment options also include credit card and debit card. Please note that fees and charges are reviewed annually and may be subject to change.
